Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about installing, using, licensing, and updating VA Nexus.
General
Is VA Nexus Core free?
Yes. VA Nexus Core is planned as a free core platform, with premium modules and add-ons available separately.
What is the minimum PHP version?
VA Nexus requires PHP 8.2 or higher.
What framework is VA Nexus built on?
VA Nexus is built on Laravel 12.
Installation
Can I install VA Nexus on shared hosting?
Yes, as long as your hosting supports PHP 8.2+, MySQL, and the required PHP extensions.
What database do I use?
VA Nexus uses MySQL or MariaDB. On most cPanel servers, your database host will be localhost.
Where do I launch the installer?
After uploading the files, open your browser and go to your domain followed by /install.
What if the installer says a PHP extension is missing?
Enable the missing extension in cPanel under Select PHP Version or PHP Extensions, then reload the installer.
Licensing and Updates
Will the free core still use license keys?
It can. A free core product can still be distributed through WHMCS so users receive a license key and download access.
Should I back up before updating?
Yes. Always make a full backup of your files and database before applying any update.
Do I need the ZIP extension?
Yes, it is strongly recommended for updater support and future module installation workflows.
Still need help?
Read the installation and updating guides first, then reach out through your support or client area if needed.
